Position Summary
The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for calling on customers in an assigned territory, building relationships with new and established customers, demonstrating products and/or services, providing quotes, and referring orders to the inside sales team. The role requires meeting sales and margin quotas consistently and staying knowledgeable about market conditions, contractor and competitor trends, and Kenroc’s products and services.Key Responsibilities
Adhere to all company procedures, values and policies to provide an accurate representation of the company to potential and current customers. Maximize sales, grow assigned customer accounts, and assist in developing new business opportunities to meet sales and margin goals. Travel within the designated territory to meet customers and prospective customers face‑to‑face.Establish and maintain positive customer relations using a solutions‑based customer service approach. Develop clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers. Proactively communicate with and support internal departments to ensure accurate coordination of customer service and deliveries.Ensure customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management, and resolve any post‑sale issues with internal team members. Share knowledge and offer training/support for new and existing sales staff. Maintain detailed reports of sales activities including calls, orders, sales, lost business, and any customer or vendor relationship problems.Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Kenroc’s products and services and how they benefit customers. Stay aware of market conditions, competitor products and pricing, and collect and report on market pricing. Organize, promote, and attend internal or external informational, promotional, and marketing events such as trade shows, customer luncheons, and dealer shows.Maintain a job tracking system, create job quotes, and/or apply for job specifications. Provide and analyze monthly reports detailing sales and customer contact frequency. Coordinate with the accounts receivable department to ensure invoices are paid in full in a timely manner by customers. Skills&Qualifications
GED (Grade 12); post‑secondary education in business administration is an asset. Minimum 3 years of sales experience, preferably in the building materials industry. Professional sales skill training is an asset. Competencies
