What you’ll do as an Industrial Electrician Join our dynamic team where you'll work hands‑on with advanced manufacturing equipment including conveyors, robotic systems, overhead and transfer systems, and presses. We're looking for a driven individual who thrives in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and repair electrical and mechanical systems (hydraulics, pneumatics, drives, bearings, gears).
Perform preventative maintenance using standardized procedures.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with automation systems (PLC, I/O, VFDs, fieldbus, communication networks).
Replace or commission automation devices, including basic configuration or reloading backups.
Analyze and resolve electrical and control system issues throughout the plant.
Maintain and update technical documentation (electrical diagrams, installation notes, etc.).
Support continuous improvement efforts to minimize downtime and improve plant efficiency.
Qualifications What We’re Looking For:
Certification Valid Ontario or Inter‑Provincial Electrician Certificate of Qualification (442A/Red Seal) required. Completion of an Electrician Apprenticeship is preferred.
Experience 3‑5 years as a licensed industrial electrician in a manufacturing or automation environment.
Technical Skills
Strong understanding of industrial electronics and process controls
Proficient in reading and troubleshooting from electrical diagrams
Skilled in using diagnostic tools (multimeter, oscilloscope, etc.) to troubleshoot 24VDC, 240VAC, and 480VAC systems
Hands‑on experience with control panels, relays, contactors, and safety systems
Familiarity with PLCs (Siemens, Allen‑Bradley) and HMIs; ability to read and reload PLC programs from backup
Working knowledge of VFDs (SEW, Siemens, Allen‑Bradley, Lenze)
Experience with fieldbus systems (Profibus, Profinet, ASi)
Comfortable working with ASi‑Safe and Profisafe systems is an asset
Network&Software
Basic networking knowledge (IP/MAC addresses, routers, switches)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)
Familiarity with AutoCAD for updating electrical drawings
Bonus: experience with Microsoft Visual Studio (C#, Visual Basic)
Mechanical Knowledge
Basic understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics
Mechanical aptitude and interest are essential
Other Qualities
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
Demonstrated ability to perform preventative maintenance
Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented industrial setting
Adaptable to changing priorities and able to work cross‑functionally
Physical Requirements This is a physically demanding position. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (23 kg). Manual dexterity, teamwork, hand‑eye co‑ordination and a combination of sitting, standing and walking required.
