Full-time, permanent Compensation:
$21.60/hour to $36/hour (depending on apprenticeship level; overtime after 44 hours/week) + health care spending account + pension plan + eligibility for year-end bonus
This is a new position currently available
Here’s What You’ll Do:
As an Electrical Apprentice at Horst Systems, you’ll support agricultural and industrial electrical projects while completing your apprenticeship under the supervision of licensed Electricians and Foremen. You’ll work both in the panel shop and on construction sites, gaining hands‑on experience in installations, troubleshooting, and system testing. You’ll contribute to safe, high‑quality electrical work while continuing to develop your technical skills and trade knowledge.

Your day to day will look like this:
Assist with installing conduit, wiring, panels, motors, and electrical components
Pull wire, terminate connections, and support equipment installations
Read and follow electrical drawings, layouts, and instructions
Support troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems
Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
Follow all safety procedures including PPE, lockout/tagout, and job hazard assessments
Transport tools and materials and assist with site setup and teardown
Learn from Journeyperson Electricians and Foremen through hands‑on training
Complete required documentation such as time sheets and safety forms
Some overnight travel is required

Registered 309A Electrical Apprentice (3rd to 5th year preferred)
Comfortable working at heights and in outdoor construction environments
Experience with grain bins or agricultural construction or commercial experience (considered an asset)
Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn
Positive attitude and team‑first mindset with emphasis on health&safety
Strong communication, problem‑solving, and critical thinking skills
Nerve, Grit, Focus to get the job done
Requirements for this position:
Registered 309A Electrical Apprentice
Valid Driver’s License with satisfactory driver’s abstract
Ability to travel to job sites, including overnight stays as required
