Grand Harbour Marina is preparing to unveil an exciting new waterfront dining destination— and we’re building the front-of-house team now to be ready for our grand opening on May long weekend!
ABOUT GRAND HARBOUR MARINA Grand Harbour Marina is a premier waterfront destination located in Lagoon City, Brechin, Ontario— on the beautiful east shore of Lake Simcoe. Under new ownership and management, we are transforming this iconic marina community into a destination defined by elevated service, exceptional amenities, and a genuine passion for life on the water.
As part of our transformation, we are preparing to open a brand-new waterfront restaurant concept that will redefine dining on Lake Simcoe. This is not a renovation of what existed before— it is something entirely new. An upscale, fresh, and genuinely inspired dining experience, built around a menu that celebrates seasonal ingredients and the spirit of the water, served in one of Ontario’s most spectacular marina settings.
The full reveal is coming soon. But we are assembling the front-of-house team right now— and we want extraordinary hospitality professionals who are ready to be part of it from day one.
THE OPPORTUNITY We are hiring for an important front-of-house roles as servers a central role for the guest experience we are building— and require people who understand that exceptional hospitality is about far more than taking orders and delivering drinks.
Whether you are an experienced server who reads a table before they sit down, and carry a conversation with equal confidence— if you take real pride in delivering a memorable dining experience and you want to be part of something genuinely exciting, we want to hear from you. Due to the sale of alcohol, all applicants must be 18 years of age or older and hold a valid Smart Serve certification.
BARTENDER— KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Bar Operations&Cocktail Craft
Operate the bar with skill, speed, and precision— delivering consistently outstanding drinks whether it is the first cover or the last call of the night
Craft cocktails, mix drinks, and pour wine, beer, and spirits accurately, consistently, and to recipe specification
Develop and deliver an elevated, creative bar experience that complements the overall dining concept— with a genuine passion for the craft
Maintain an expert knowledge of the full cocktail menu, spirits, wines, beers, and non‑alcoholic offerings — including preparation methods, garnishes, and glassware
Contribute ideas for seasonal cocktails, signature drinks, and beverage program development as invited by management
Manage bar inventory throughout each shift— monitoring par levels, flagging low stock, and communicating replenishment needs to management
Bar Guest Experience
Welcome every guest at the bar with warmth, personality, and genuine attentiveness— whether dining, drinking, or simply waiting for a table
Build rapport naturally with bar guests, anticipating needs and creating the kind of experience that turns first‑time visitors into regulars
Manage the bar section as its own distinct hospitality space— with the same standard of service, pacing, and personal attention as the dining room
Handle all food orders from bar guests with the same accuracy and care as table service— communicating clearly with the kitchen and following up on timing
Serve alcohol responsibly and in strict compliance with Smart Serve standards and Ontario liquor regulations at all times— must be 18+
Bar Cleanliness, Setup&Compliance
Maintain the bar in a consistently clean, organized, and visually polished state throughout every shift
Complete all bar opening and closing duties thoroughly including stock rotation, cleaning, equipment checks, and cash/POS reconciliation
Ensure all glassware, tools, equipment, and garnish stations are impeccably maintained and ready for service at all times
Adhere to all WHMIS, food safety, and health unit standards applicable to bar operations
Complete all required Smart Serve logs, incident reports, and any compliance documentation accurately
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR — Required
Must be 18 years of age or older— required for the responsible service of alcohol under Ontario law
Valid Smart Serve certification— required prior to commencing employment, no exceptions
Minimum 1–2 years of serving or bartending experience in a restaurant, bar, or hospitality setting
Warm, polished, and genuinely guest-focused— you care deeply about the experience you create for the people you serve
Composed, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast‑paced, high-volume environment
Professional in both appearance and conduct— you hold yourself to the standard the restaurant represents
Reliable, punctual, and available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a high‑performing team
Preferred Assets for Bartenders
Experience behind the bar in an upscale, cocktail‑forward, or high‑volume restaurant or lounge
Strong working knowledge of spirits, classic and contemporary cocktails, wine, and craft beer
Experience contributing to a beverage program or developing signature cocktail offerings
Flair for creating a memorable bar experience through personality, craft, and genuine hospitality
