CNC Boring Mill Operator (Large Parts): 3-Day Work Week …, Windsor

Our client is a well-established manufacturing company in Windsor with steady long-term work, a highly organized shop environment, and a team of long-tenured employees.

This is a practical, hands-on machining role focused on large steel components and consistent production work. Unlike many high-pressure job shops, this environment is structured, stable, and quality-driven, with a steady flow of work and strong internal support.

What You’ll Be Doing

Operate CNC boring mills and large-format CNC machines

Work with large steel components, weldments, and fabricated parts

Perform machine setups and prepare jobs for production

Run established programs and make basic machine adjustments as needed

Read and interpret blueprints and production drawings

Use precision measuring tools including micrometers, depth mics, and gauges

Maintain part quality and dimensional accuracy throughout production

Safely move large components using an overhead crane

Support production requirements across the shop as needed

What We’re Looking For

CNC machining experience in a manufacturing or job shop environment

Experience with milling machines or boring mills preferred

Ability to read and interpret blueprints

Experience using precision measuring tools

Comfortable performing setups and running jobs independently

Overhead crane experience is required

Comfortable working with large, heavy steel components

Reliable, practical, and quality-focused approach to machining

Nice to Have

Experience with CNC boring mills or horizontal mills

Experience machining large weldments or plate work

Exposure to macro edits or basic program adjustments

Experience in heavy machining or fabrication environments

Schedule Options Primary Schedule Option

Friday to Sunday

6:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Work 36 hours, paid for 40

Alternate Schedule Options (depending on production needs and department placement)

Monday to Friday - 8-hour shifts

Monday to Thursday - 10-hour shifts

Schedule structure will be discussed during the interview process based on experience, shop requirements, and operational needs.
