to support nutrition, primary care, and community wellness initiatives across the Beaufort Delta and Sahtu regions on a 1-year term. Based in Inuvik, this role combines clinical dietetics, health promotion, chronic disease prevention, and community outreach in one of Canada’s most unique and rewarding healthcare environments.About the Role

Reporting to the Regional Manager of Rehabilitation, the Community Dietitian plays a key leadership role in primary care and health promotion services across the region. The position works collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams and community partners to deliver culturally responsive nutrition programs and services tailored to northern communities.Services may be delivered in acute care, long-term care, outpatient and community settings, including outreach visits to remote communities, virtual care, and interdisciplinary health programs. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about community wellness, Indigenous health, chronic disease prevention, and delivering meaningful healthcare services in the North.Key Responsibilities

In this role you will: Provide nutrition assessment, counselling, education, and care planning for clients across acute care, outpatient, long-term care, and community settings Support chronic disease prevention and management initiatives related to diabetes, cardiovascular disease, obesity, and healthy agingDevelop and deliver culturally appropriate nutrition education and health promotion programs Collaborate with healthcare teams, schools, community organizations, and families to support healthy eating initiatives Support food security and wellness initiatives, including community-based nutrition programmingDeliver group education sessions, workshops, and community outreach activities Provide clinical leadership, mentorship, and education to healthcare staff and community partners Participate in interdisciplinary care planning, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives Qualifications Required

Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by: A Baccalaureate Degree in Nutrition Completion of an accredited Dietetic Internship Program One (1) year of recent experience in acute or ambulatory care Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered. Additional Requirements

Current eligibility for registration with a provincially regulated association of Registered Dietitians is required Membership with Dietitians of Canada is considered an asset Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence required Learn More
