Description
Purpose of the Role Deliver community engagement with Indigenous partners that supports successful project execution. This role reports to the Community Relations Lead.
Key Accountabilities Community Relations and Engagement
Coordinate community and Indigenous engagement activities aligned with the Project’s strategy
Build respectful relationships with First Nations, community members, and stakeholders
Support meetings, site visits, and community events, including logistics and follow‑up
Prepare engagement materials tailored to different audiences
Support execution of the Community and Indigenous Relations Plan
Respond to community investment requests and inquiries
Reporting and Program Implementation
Maintain engagement tracking systems with accurate records and reporting
Track commitments under agreements, permits, and plans
Support the development of community programs and partnership initiatives
Prepare reports, summaries, and presentations on engagement activities
Identify engagement risks or opportunities, then elevate appropriately
Coordination and Administrative Support
Prepare correspondence, including emails, letters, briefing notes, and presentations
Support logistics for engagement activities
Track invoices, expenses, and budgets related to community programs
Coordinate action items, deadlines, and follow‑ups
Qualifications
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Skills&Experience
3–5 years of experience in community relations, Indigenous engagement, communications, or related field
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to translate complex information for different audiences
Understanding of Indigenous customs and cultures, particularly Yukon Indigenous Peoples, is considered an asset
Experience with engagement tracking systems or Power BI is considered an asset
Working with Indigenous Nations or local communities is preferred
