Department: Government of Yukon– Health&Social Services– Administration – Home Care Location: Whitehorse, YT Y1A 2C6, Canada (Primary) Job Type: Permanent Full Time: 75 hours bi-weekly (standard
Full‑time ) Classification: ST16 Salary: $94,501.00 – $109,661.00 Union: YEU Days Off: Saturday/Sunday Travel: 25% within Yukon territory Admissibility
Open to all candidates. Preference for Canadian Indigenous ancestry, with priority for Yukon First Nations ancestry. Responsibilities
Coordinate Home Care in Yukon communities outside of Whitehorse. Supervise home support workers in rural, remote communities. Coordinate discharges from hospital. Complete assessments for long‑term care. Perform case management. Collaborate with community partners and supervise staff. Travel routinely to communities outside of Whitehorse.Essential Qualifications
Master’s degree in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy. Current registration or eligibility for registration with a Canadian occupational therapy regulatory body, OR current physiotherapist registration in Yukon via the Skilled Licensing and Regulatory Affairs Branch. Experience planning, developing, and implementing programs.Experience supervising support staff. Experience as a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist providing assessments and treatments in a community environment (desired). Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Suitability
Strong ability to collaborate and work within a multi‑disciplinary team to promote community development. Strong skills working with diverse cultural backgrounds. Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and conflict‑management skills. Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to work independently within a team setting.Ability to supervise and provide leadership for support staff. Strong assessment skills. Conditions of Employment
TB screening. RCMP security clearance with vulnerable sector check. CPR‑C with AED (within last 30 months). WHMIS 2015. Valid Class 5 driver’s licence. Current registration with a Canadian occupational therapy regulatory body, or a valid and current licence to practice physiotherapy in Yukon.Job Requirements
Travel within the territory by road and air (sometimes during inclement weather). Exposure to pets, second‑hand smoke, latex products, flowers, plants, and/or other irritants while in client homes. Exposure to infectious agents.
