Role Summary:
The Catering Supervisor reports to the Chef&Manager of Catering and Cabin Services and is responsible for supervising and training kitchen staff. The incumbent oversees the production, quality assurance and health and safety procedures for flight catering. In addition, the Catering Supervisor will assist with the creation of recipes for menu items, maintain standards and assist with inventory control.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide direction, supervision, coaching and mentorship to Catering and Black Wolf Bistro staff, leading by hands‑on example and support
Cultivate a team environment that is supportive, motivating and encouraging
Liaise with HR and Manager to maintain staffing levels, engage in performance management including training, reviews, recognition, disciplinary action and termination
Manage scheduling based on operational requirements (vacation planning, shift changes, sickness and absenteeism), providing shift coverage as needed
Monitor and optimize scheduling to minimize overtime and submit bi‑weekly payroll
Ensure food is produced and assembled in accordance with airline specifications, conducting periodic sampling and testing to ensure product quality and integrity
Ensure food safety, sanitation and workplace standards meet or exceed all regulatory requirements
Establish, maintain and regularly audit policies, procedures and food safety management plans, including the HACCP plan, investigating deviations and implementing corrective actions as required
Ensure on‑time performance through proficient, organized, and appropriately staffed food production
Maintain and audit high‑risk activities, including product selection, purchasing, receiving, inventory controls and food cost management
Must haves:
Combination of culinary training and experience exceeding 5 years
Interprovincial Trade Certificate/Red Seal or Diploma/Certificate
Proven experience running a kitchen and leading a team
Experience in planning and directing food preparation and cooking
A strong sense of accountability, honesty, and responsibility in all tasks, supporting the trust that we have built with passengers, partners, and communities
Enthusiasm for contributing to our unique mission, whether that’s through direct customer service, operational excellence, or behind‑the‑scenes support
Must be a legally entitled to work in Canada
Nice to haves:
Experience operating a 5‑ton truck
