Safety&Security Officers Position: Safety&Security Officer (Part‑time) – Ayamdigut (Whitehorse) Campus

Part‑time; shifts day&night

40 hours bi‑weekly

Wage: $30.67– $36.51 per hour

Responsibilities As a Safety&Security Officer, you will:

Patrol the campus and provide customer service

Monitor alarms and security systems

Respond to emergency situations and assist with incidents involving students, staff, and visitors

Provide first aid when needed and manage access to University facilities

Collaborate with external emergency services and contribute to special‑event planning

Address safety concerns such as hazards and spills promptly

Communicate effectively in written and verbal English, and complete detailed written reports

What You Bring

Knowledge of security and safety procedures and equipment

Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills

Ability to remain calm in high‑stress situations and de‑escalate conflict

Physical ability to walk/stand for extended periods (up to 10 h/day) and lift up to 40 kg

Professional, customer‑service focused demeanor

Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, email, databases)

Required Qualifications

Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

Ability to pass a criminal records check and be bondable

Excellent written and verbal English skills

Advanced First Aid/CPR certificate (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)

Willingness to wear a uniform

Preferred

Prior security training or experience in a similar role
