The City of Dawson is hiring a Landfill Waste Attendant to support daily operations in the Public Works department. Engage with visitors and ensure efficient waste management practices.

Reporting to the Waste Management Supervisor, this role is vital in interacting with the public, overseeing landfill systems, and maintaining environmental safety. You’ll manage weight scales, handle fee collections, and contribute to the overall operation of the Free Store, providing a positive experience for citizens.

Key Responsibilities:• Control operations at weigh scales and track waste data • Conduct fee collections accurately at the landfill • Ensure a safe and pleasant environment for visitors • Participate in the Free Store operations and upkeep • Operate heavy machinery, including loaders and backhoes

Requirements:• High school education mandatory • Experience with waste management operations preferred • Class 5 Driver’s Licence essential • WHMIS and First Aid certifications required • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
