Job Summary
Software Developer (Temporary)– 3 Month Fixed Term Contract. Salary $80,000 - $85,000. Role located in Stouffville, ON; hybrid work arrangement. Reports to Manager, Software Engineering in the R&D department. About the Role
As a Software Developer at Portfolio+, you will shape and enhance financial software solutions that empower Canadian customers to manage their day‑to‑day banking and support our Canadian bank partners. You will design, develop, and maintain high‑performance products using modern object‑oriented languages, continuous integration/deployment pipelines, and DevSecOps practices.Responsibilities
Write clean, well‑documented code and deliverables with supporting technical documentation in collaboration with Technical Publications. Use Agile methodologies to break down Epics and User Stories into sprint‑based tasks and deliver on time. Participate actively in code reviews, pair programming, retrospectives, and POCs to improve best practices.Update timesheets, estimates, and sprint deliverables promptly, including POCs and innovation work. Apply shift‑left testing: functional, performance, DAST/SAST, and CI/CD integration. Contribute to Software Communities of Practice and identify opportunities for continuous improvement in SDLC, DevOps/DevSecOps, and process efficiency.Mentor and onboard new team members while promoting a Guard Duty model for code quality. Communicate effectively and maintain a positive, high‑performance attitude. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience. 5+ years of software engineering experience with modern object‑oriented programming languages (C#, C++, Java, Python, Golang, Rust, etc.). Proficiency in Agile and DevOps/DevSecOps methodologies with astrong focus on Quality Left.Experience with test automation frameworks, Test‑Driven Development (TDD), integration and acceptance testing. Knowledge of enterprise architecture, design patterns, data modeling (SQL/NoSQL), and RESTful APIs. Familiarity with tools such as GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket, Jenkins/Bamboo, Gradle/Ant/Maven, ReadyAPI, Postman/Newman, JUnit, AWS CodeArtifact, AWS ECR, JFrog Artifactory, Harbor, Helm, Argo CD, Docker, Rancher, Kubernetes, X‑Ray, SonarQube, ELK Stack, DataDog, Splunk, Terraform, and Ansible.Scalable, clean code mindset– guard against defects through code reviews and automated testing.
