Fleet Technician Positions Available, Whitby Region (Gormley)

The Town of Ajax is hiring Fleet Technicians to oversee the repair and maintenance of a wide range of municipal vehicles. This includes hands-on work with trucks, tractors, and specialized equipment.

As a Fleet Technician, you will play a vital role in the Operations&Environmental Services department. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnostics, and performing repairs on various fleet assets. The selected candidates will be classified into one of three technician levels based on their qualifications and experience, contributing to the efficiency of essential town services.

Key Responsibilities:• Diagnose issues and repair municipal vehicles and equipment • Execute preventive maintenance duties regularly • Keep accurate logs of service activities and repairs • Evaluate equipment needs and order necessary parts • Provide roadside assistance for fleet emergencies

Requirements:• Must hold a valid Ontario G Drivers’ license • Requires five years of experience as a technician • Knowledge of vehicle safety and maintenance standards • Computer skills for logging service records • Certifications in safety training and equipment operation beneficial
