Quality Technical Inspection Manager (Permanent) Location:
Victoria, B.C.
Expected Salary:
$67,021 to $83,776
To determine final salary, Babcock considers a variety of factors including the successful Candidate’s skills and experience and internal equity. The final base salary offer is at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.

Description In this role you will:
Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of Babcock Canada’s Marine Technical Inspection team in accordance with Babcock Canada’s policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance and integrity of all inbound material.
Co‑ordinate with various stakeholders, to address material quality issues for Marine Projects.
Drive continuous improvement and lead change within the Supply Chain Quality organization and Babcock Canada’s Operating System.
Lead cross functional teams to drive quality improvement plans.
Motivate, coach, and develop a strong performing team to achieve business objectives. This includes the ability to lead, drive change and influence others.
Provide extensive experience in Inspection criteria, creation of Procedures/Operational standards and work instructions.
Manage non‑conforming material and the resolution of technical discrepancies.
Possess an understanding of Quality improvement principles.
Support project delivery by proactively seeking improvements to established policies and workflows.
Conduct work in a manner that supports a positive Health and Safety culture.
Manage multiple and conflicting priorities.
Lead regularly scheduled quality performance audits and drive preventive measures.
Collaborate with material planning, procurement and warehousing teams to drive engagement and innovation within the P&SC function.
Perform other duties as deemed necessary and reasonable to support the business.
The ideal candidate brings:
Minimum 5 years related experience with 3+ years of progressive management experience in a relevant environment.
Availability to work varied or on call shifts as required by the business.
A“home safe” approach to work and the ability to lead with the same mindset.
The capacity to manage a small team (4-6 people) including scheduling, coaching, performance management and training.
A continuous improvement mindset.
Six Sigma Greenbelt trained/certified or willing to undertake training within 1 year.
Certified Six Sigma qualification, PMP designation or ASQ Certifications considered a plus.
Experience in risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Experience in the use of Microsoft Office products, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Word.
A professional attitude by leading through Babcock’s purposes and principles.
Knowledge of Quality Control or Quality assurance best practices as a benefit.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards would be advantageous.
Eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance.
