BCI’s Financial Reporting&Valuations team is hiring a Senior Analyst or Associate in Victoria, British Columbia. The role supports the evolution of financial reporting, including ESG reporting, across complex investment structures. Candidates will contribute to system enhancements, modern reporting approaches, and audit&governance standards. Who You Will Work With
The Finance department within BCI Operations, responsible for investment and corporate accounting, valuations, and financial reporting. The Financial Reporting and Valuations teams, managing daily price verification for fixed income and public equity securities, and quarterly/year‑end valuation of private‑market investments.What You Bring
Professional accounting designation (CPA) or equivalent. 3+ years of relevant accounting experience (4+ for Associate). Experience in investment/securities accounting. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and attention‑to‑detail skills. Ability to meet strict deadlines and proactively seek efficiencies.Advanced Excel skills and experience with an industry‑standard accounting platform. Associate Level Additional Requirements
In‑depth IFRS exposure, specifically IFRS9 (Financial Instruments) and IFRS13 (Fair Value Measurement). Experience mentoring or supporting team development. Audit experience within an IFRS reporting environment. Experience preparing or reviewing audited financial statements. Experience with Workiva or similar financial‑reporting tools.Broad understanding of analytical tools and programming languages (Excel VBA, PowerBI, Python). Experience designing, building, and testing AI solutions. What You Will Do
Deliver timely, accurate internal and external financial reporting at Senior Analyst or Associate level. Prepare and review financial statements, portfolio carbon footprints, and other reported information. Assist with external audit engagements and respond to auditor queries. Analyze new accounting standards and recommend policy changes.Communicate with investment teams, auditors, and other departments to resolve reporting issues. Maintain knowledge of clients, asset classes, and the end‑to‑end finance function. Develop, maintain, and improve financial solutions and processes aligned to client objectives. Transform financial data into business intelligence and reports through quantitative and qualitative analysis.Identify and address risks, ensuring compliance with internal control frameworks. Provide training and assistance to team members. Document procedures to support effective internal controls over financial reporting. Optimize BCI’s financial reporting software (Workiva), manage associated work papers, and oversee queries.Act as subject‑matter expert in developing requirements and testing solutions within SimCorp Dimension environments. Advise on AI‑enabled recommendations and help design, build, and test AI solutions. Where You Will Work
Based in our downtown Victoria, BC office. Relocation support is available. BCI offers up to one remote day per week. Salary Range
Senior Analyst: CAD$90,000– $109,000 per year. Associate: CAD$103,000 – $124,000 per year. Benefits
