Description
The Financial Data and Reporting Analyst is responsible for collecting, validating, analyzing, and interpreting large volumes of financial and operational data. This role builds custom reports, automates workflows and supports decision-making across the organization. The Analyst must have strong Excel and VBA/macro skills, experience with data extraction and manipulation and a solid understanding of accounting functions including AP, AR, month-end and financial close processes.
Qualifications and Skills
5-8 years’ experience in Accounting and Data Analytics
Strong proficiency in Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, Power Query and VBA/macros
Experience analyzing and organizing large datasets
Solid understanding of AP, AR month-end close and financial reporting
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Preferred
Experience with ERP systems and SAP. Knowledge of ODOO will be considered an asset
Knowledge of SQL, Power BI or other analytic tools
Experience in finance, accounting or data-driven operational roles
Post‑secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business or Data Analytics
Experience supporting audits or compliance processes
Other duties as assigned to support the team

Key Responsibilities Data Analyses and Reporting
Extract, clean and manipulate large datasets
Build custom financial and operational reports for management
Develop dashboards, KPIs and trend analyses to support business decisions
Automate recurring reports using Excel, VBA, macros or other tools
Validate data accuracy and reconcile discrepancies across systems
Financial and Accounting Support
Support AP, AR and month‑end close activities through data analysis and reporting
Prepare journal entry support, reconciliations and variance analyses
Assist with forecasting, budgeting and financial modeling
Ensure data integrity across accounting and operational systems
Process Improvement and Automation
Identify inefficiencies in reporting and accounting workflows
Develop automated tools, templates and macros to streamline processes
Recommend improvements to data structure, reporting logic and system usage
Support implementation of new reporting tools or ERP requirements
Data Governance and Quality
Maintain data accuracy, consistency and completeness
Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial reporting standards
Monitor data flows and troubleshoot issues proactively
Costing
Develop and maintain costing models, including detailed assessment of raw materials, direct labor and manufacturing overhead
Analyze variances between actual costs and forecasted performance, identifying key drivers and recommending corrective actions
Support management in pricing decisions by delivering timely and accurate margin analysis and profitability insights
Fast‑paced office environment with cross‑department collaboration
Requires extended periods working with spreadsheets and data systems
