Description
The Care Company is a home health care company that helps seniors stay in their own homes as long as they wish.
Scheduling Requirements
Full‑time (37.5–40 hours per week) with availability Monday through Friday; flexibility for day, evening, and overnight shifts preferred.
Will commit to a consistent, ongoing, weekly schedule for the foreseeable future.
Will be able to see multiple clients throughout the day.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide personal care to clients as outlined in their care plans.
Offer companionship and light housekeeping to help clients remain at home.
Prepare meals in accordance with client or family requests, including a variety of cuisines.
Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), bathing, grooming, linen changes, and hygiene tasks within the scope of practice for a Personal Support Worker.
Help clients with transfers, ambulation, and exercises.
Ensure client safety by using equipment properly and following safety protocols.
Operate within personal experience and professional knowledge, practicing safely and competently.
Complete records and documentation accurately and thoroughly.
Requirements
Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for daily work.
Ability to travel between assignments within designated areas; travel to rural/remote areas is an asset.
Proficient verbal and written communication in English.
PSW certification from an approved educational institution or recognized International nursing/doctorate certification.
Negative TB test completed within the last year.
Valid CPR/First Aid Certificate.
Valid WHMIS2015 Certificate of Completion.
COVID‑19 vaccination evidence, subject to Ontario Human Rights Code exemptions.
Immunization for measles, rubella, varicella, tetanus, and diphtheria required; hepatitis B immunization strongly urged.
Valid criminal record check completed within the last year.
Ability to identify and report client care concerns to Care Coordinators.
Good judgment and ability to work independently while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.
Current/Valid Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) registration is an asset.
