Scheduling Requirements

Available for 12‑hour shifts on Saturdays and Sundays, with flexibility for day, evening, and overnight shifts preferred.

Commit to a consistent, ongoing weekly schedule for the foreseeable future.

Willing to see multiple clients throughout the day.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide personal care to clients as outlined in their care plans.

Provide companionship and light housekeeping to help clients stay at home.

Prepare meals in accordance with client or family requests, open to preparing different kinds of cuisine.

Assist clients with all activities of daily living (ADLs) within scope of practice for a Personal Support Worker.

Assist clients with transfers, ambulation, and exercises.

Meet safety needs of the client and use equipment safely and properly.

Function within limits of own experience and knowledge, practicing safely and competently.

Complete records and documentation accurately and thoroughly.

Requirements

Valid driver’s licence and reliable access to a car for daily work.

Ability to travel between assignments within designated areas; travel to rural/remote areas is an asset.

Effective verbal and written communication in English.

PSW certification from an approved and recognised educational institution or international nursing/doctorate certification.

Negative TB test completed within the last year.

Valid CPR/First Aid certificate.

Valid WHMIS2015 certificate of completion.

COVID vaccination receipts, subject to exemption pursuant to Ontario’s Human Rights Code.

Immunisation for measles, rubella, varicella, tetanus, and diphtheria required; Hepatitis B immunisation strongly urged.

Valid Criminal Record Check completed within the last year.

Ability to identify and report client care concerns to Care Coordinators when needed.

Good judgement, ability to work independently, and work cooperatively with an interdisciplinary team.

Current/Valid Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) registration is an asset.
