Resident Attendant - Permanent Part-Time
Aspira Douglas Crossing Retirement Living
Rate of Pay: $19.11 (non-union)
Part time 0700-1500 45 hrs biweekly

What you’ll be doing: You will be a welcomed team member, working in a fast-paced environment where you will make a meaningful difference in residents’ lives. As a Resident Attendant, you’ll form a deep understanding of your residents and their living experience. You will build relationships with theresidents and their family members, offering a variety of support options and program choices that enrich their daily health and well-being. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.
What makes you a great fit:
Answers all resident call bells and door alarms promptly and provides courteous service
Completes all aspects of resident care as outlined in the plan of care and care assignments
Transports residents to and from their rooms, recreational activities, health office and dining room as required
Completes laundry and housekeeping duties as outlined by assignments
Deals tactfully and courteously with residents, residents' families and reports any concerns / complaints to the team leader
Practices safe food handling techniques throughout all aspects of food preparation and service
Performing other duties as assigned
What you need to know:
Minimum of six months of experience in a similar role
Current First Aid/CPR training
Excellent command of the verbal and written English language skills
Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team
Certification in Personal Support Worker or Personal Care Worker, or a 16 hour course that covers the provision of personal care and that is recognized by the department. If you don't have this, you must be willing to complete this course within 3 months of start date. (for SK homes)
Personal Support Worker Certificate is preferred
You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit
You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check
