The Bell Creek Complex, approximately 20 km northeast of Timmins, consists of an underground mine and processing facility. Mineralization is associated with the Porcupine‑Destor fault system within the Abitibi greenstone belt, with ore mined by narrow‑vein longhole stoping methods. Ore is transported to the surface via a contemporary 1080 m deep shaft capable of 4800 tpd.Timmins is a vibrant community of 45,000 residents that is a central hub for Northeastern Ontario. We are looking to hire a

Senior Mine Engineer

to join the Bell Creek Mine in Porcupine, ON on a full‑time basis. Schedule: Monday‑Friday, 8 hrs/day or 4 on / 3 off, 10 hrs/day. A hybrid on‑site/remote schedule may be considered with a weekly on‑site presence. Responsibilities

Supervise, train and mentor planners, EITs, mine technicians and co‑op students within the Engineering department. Provide technical leadership and operational expertise to the Engineering and Operations Team. Oversee, coordinate and prepare engineering deliverables including short/medium/long‑term planning and scheduling, infrastructure and ventilation designs, geotechnical analyses, reconciliations, and reporting.Assist with the development, optimization and implementation of medium‑term mine plans to achieve budget and long‑term objectives safely and economically. Develop, optimize, and implement long‑term planning and scheduling (reserves and life of mine), infrastructure and ventilation designs, geotechnical analyses, reconciliations, and reporting.Facilitate daily and weekly planning meetings with key personnel to coordinate activities and meet goals. Assist in the development of the annual mine site budget and quarterly forecasts, with support from stakeholders. Participate in the compilation of month‑end engineering reports and stope reconciliations.Lead and coordinate special projects with Mine Operations and contractors, including planning, scheduling, and budgeting for each project. Monitor compliance with applicable engineering codes, regulations, safety and environmental practices, performance standards and specifications. Troubleshoot problems, analyze and recommend solutions so that mining proceeds according to plan.Evaluate alternative optimized methods of ore extraction, stope access and mining sequence, detailing costs, benefits and issues, and make recommendations. Contribute to the development of policies and procedures within the Engineering department and Mine Operations. Participate actively in training programs, personal improvement, and job improvement initiatives.Continually develop the ability, knowledge and skills necessary to keep up with changing methods and technology. Assist and coordinate special projects within the planning and projects teams. Perform other duties as requested. Qualifications

Accreditation as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario (or actively working towards it). Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Minimum of 5 years of underground mining experience in hard‑rock (preferably gold) operations. Experience supervising and mentoring engineering teams, including EITs, technicians and co‑op students.Strong background in narrow‑vein, longhole, and conventional mining methods. Proficiency with Deswik, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel). Experience with underground water management, seismic systems, and paste fill. Strong understanding of mine planning, scheduling, and engineering best practices.Experience working closely with operations teams in a production‑focused environment. Strong communication, organizational, leadership, analytical, and problem‑solving skills. Proactive, analytical mindset and initiative to drive continuous improvement.
