Senior Metallurgist IAMGOLD is a Canadian-based gold mining company with operations and development projects across North America and West Africa.

We are actively seeking a Senior Metallurgist to lead and coordinate metallurgy deliverables for Côté Gold. The role oversees technical metallurgical information and analysis regarding mill process metallurgy, reports progress, and participates in mill projects and business improvement initiatives. This includes providing technical expertise, coaching, and training to Metallurgists, MetallurgyTechnicians, and Refiners, managing consultants and stakeholders, improving production plant performance, and planning metallurgical and refinery process tasks.

Responsibilities

Lead a diverse, high‑performing metallurgy and refinery team through inclusive mentorship, clear progression paths, and rigorous safety coaching.

Manage workforce schedules, prioritize operational work plans, and optimize resource allocation to guarantee maximum team efficiency.

Direct mill process metallurgy operations, including strict metallurgical accounting, circuit testing, sampling, and water balance monitoring.

Oversee all refinery activities, ensuring the highly secure handling of gold and maintenance of specialized equipment.

Collaborate with cross‑functional departments—Geology, Mining, Maintenance, and Laboratory—alongside external vendors to optimize overall mill performance.

Analyze process data, online analyzers, and statistical recovery results to troubleshoot circuits and adjust operational plans.

Evaluate trade‑offs, execute continuous improvement projects, and research innovative technologies to maximize gold production while reducing reagent costs.

Qualifications

Post‑secondary degree in Metallurgical Engineering or a related field.

Registration as an Engineer in Ontario (PEO) is considered an asset.

5‑8 years of related work experience, with at least 2 years of related leadership experience.

Solid understanding of optimizing mill throughput and recovery.

Previous experience in a gold processing plant is considered an asset.
