Community Support Worker

– Full Time (Kapuskasing) The Cochrane Temiskaming Resource Centre(CTRC) is seeking a Community Support Worker to join its team in Kapuskasing.CTRC is a regional Developmental Services provider offering programs across theDistricts of Temiskaming and Cochrane including coastal communities along Jamesand Hudson Bay. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within amulti-disciplinary team offering supports to individuals with DevelopmentalDisabilities, their families and serviceproviders.Community Support Workers act as the initial link toCTRC in the intake and case management capacity, by representing the needs ofindividual(s) requesting particular services and by completing intake andacting upon the decisions of the Professional Resource Team regarding servicedelivery and assisting individuals and families to access other communitysupports and government services.QUALIFICATIONS A Social Service Worker Diploma, Social WorkerDegree or proof of registration with Ontario College of Social Workers andSocial Service Workers or a Diploma from the Addiction and Mental Health Worker Program, will be considered as meeting the educationrequirement. Must possess a good understanding of Social Work Codeof Ethics and Principals and adherence to Ministry and CTRC Policies andProcedures. Proven ability to work in a diversified environment. Mustdemonstrate conceptual knowledge and self-management ability. Two years’experience in human service field and preferably some experiencewithvarious software programs.A valid G2driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required.
