Cultural Wellness Worker - Oneida Family Healing Lodge, Elgin (Dorchester)

Join the Oneida Family Healing Lodge as a Cultural Wellness Worker, providing trauma-informed support to individuals and families. This permanent full-time role focuses on healing through cultural connection and community engagement.

In this full-time position, you will address the impacts of violence within the community, offering counseling, safety planning, and culturally-based programs. Your work will help clients reconnect with theiridentity and cultural practices, fostering holistic healing. You will also educate staff, advocate for culturally safe services, and engage in community outreach.

Key Responsibilities:• Provide one-on-one counseling based on trauma-informed principles • Facilitate safety and support planning for residents • Lead sharing circles and culturally relevant programming • Advocate for culturally safe practices in the community • Participate in community outreach initiatives

Requirements:• Social Service Worker Diploma preferred or equivalent education • Knowledge of Oneida culture, history, and community practices • Experience in therapeutic support for trauma victims • Valid Class “G” driver’s license required • Vulnerable Sector Check submission needed prior to employment
