Embrace community engagement as a Community Aboriginal Recreation Activator (CARA) Worker with Chippewas of the Thames First Nation. This role focuses on planning and delivering impactful programming for all age groups and promotes community well-being.
Based in Muncey, ON, this position supports children, youth, adults, and families while fostering leadership and recreation initiatives. As part of Child, Youth and Family Well-Being Services, you will create safe, culturally rooted environments that enhance physical activity and community connections.
Key Responsibilities:• Plan and facilitate diverse recreation and wellness programs • Support youth leadership and healthy lifestyle initiatives • Monitor program participation and suggest improvements • Communicate effectively with the Youth&Recreation Coordinator• Maintain accurate program documentation and reports
Requirements:• High school diploma required; college diploma preferred • 1–2 years in recreation or community programming • Experience with Indigenous communities strongly preferred • CPR/First Aid certification required • Valid Class G driver's license and a clear Police Records Check
