Job Description

Bottle feeding calves

Scraping manure mats

Bedding cattle

Assuring cattle are fed

Pushing up feed

Assisting with sorting, tagging cattle

Cleaning, pressure washing calf penning

Handling animals

Monitoring animal health

Monitor the calving process

Perform general farm duties

Requirements

Education: Not required

Experience: Experience is an asset. On the job training will be provided

Driver’s license is an asset

Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, bending, crouching, kneeling, repetitive tasks, attention to detail, combination of standing and walking, standing for extended periods, ability to work independently, hand-eye coordination

Personal suitability: Flexibility, efficient interpersonal skills, organized, team player

Work site environment: Odours, Dairy, Livestock, Dirty

Language: Basic English is required

Salary $17.60 hourly, 30– 39.5 hours per week

Important Information The employee will work 6 days per week from 6:00 am to 10:00 am and from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Flexibility on schedule is required as some days will start earlier and others finish later depending on the business needs and weather. The candidates will have 1 unpaid food break of 30 minutes and 1 paid healthy break of 15 minutes. We guarantee at least 30 hours of work per week regardless of the weather.
