Volunteer Coordinator (4 Days a Week), Elgin (Dorchester)

Volunteer Coordinator One vacancy, 0.8 FTE (30 hours a week). $31.61 - $37.19 per hour, benefits eligible first day. Generous paid time entitlements and paid professional development time.

Responsibilities Responsible for centre‑wide volunteer services including recruitment, onboarding, engagement, retention, and scheduling of volunteers and high school student placements. Over 100 volunteers. Activities include volunteer educational activities, volunteer appreciation and engagement campaigns. Serves as ambassador withinexternal volunteer service networks and community outreach projects as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

Post‑secondary degree or diploma in a related field required.

Experience leading and engaging volunteers required.

Volunteer coordination formal training preferred.

Experience in data entry, record keeping and event planning preferred.

Understanding of possible challenges of living in a rural community.

Ability to travel to service areas where public transportation is not available.

Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check required as a condition of employment.
