Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Personal Support Worker (PSW) to provide high-quality care and assistance to a client in a home care setting in Port Perry, ON. The ideal candidate will have experience working with seniors or individuals requiring personal support and mobility assistance.This role involves assisting with daily living activities, ensuring safety, and providing respectful and patient care. We are looking for someone dependable, caring, and comfortable working 12-hour day and night shifts, it could be less hours. Our client will benefit from your compassionate support as you help with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, guide with mobility and transfers, support safe use of walker, assist with meal preparation and feeding, maintain a clean environment, and provide emotional companionship along with monitoring safety.Duties

Assist client with all personal care activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting Provide protected mobility support and continuous supervision during walking and transfers (fall risk) Guide and assist a visually impaired/blind client safely throughout the home and outside when neededSupport safe use of walker and assist with short walks when appropriate Monitor safety at all times, especially during bathroom use and transfers Assist with meal preparation and feeding support as needed Follow dietary guidelines and support structured meal routines Provide companionship and emotional support throughout the dayEncourage social engagement and conversation Assist with hydration and daily routine support Perform light housekeeping related to client care (cleaning after meals, laundry organization, maintaining safe environment) Support hygiene routines including shower assistance and post-care cleanup Report any changes in health, behavior, or safety concerns to the family/caregiverQualifications

Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate required Valid CPR and First Aid certification required Valid police background check required Previous experience in home care, senior care, or disability support preferred Experience working with visually impaired or high-fall-risk clients is an assetStrong patience, compassion, and attention to safety Ability to work 12-hour day and night shifts Reliable, punctual, and professional Good communication and caregiving skills Pay: $20.00 per hour Work Location: In person
