Sandvik Mining, Ground Support Division is seeking a Production Operator to work in Saskatoon. The role involves operating and maintaining manufacturing equipment, calibrating machines, preparing materials, inspecting products, and performing routine maintenance to support production processes.
What You Will Be Doing
Set up, calibrate, and operate machines used in production processes under general direction.
Follow established procedures for operating conventional and CNC manufacturing equipment.
Select and measure raw materials and parts to specifications to prepare for production processing.
Resolve issues related to production, machinery, processing, and packaging operations.
Inspect machining operations and finished products against specified tolerances using precision measuring tools.
Determine and correct minor machine malfunctions; perform simple routine maintenance and cleaning.
Maintain safety and housekeeping (5S) requirements; contribute to manufacturing components and finished products.
Perform general labour duties and other assigned responsibilities.
Environmental Health and Safety
Comply with safety policies and applicable regulations.
Maintain orderly work area and meet housekeeping requirements.
Attend Environmental, Health and Safety related trainings.
Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) assigned for each task.
Required Competencies
Legal entitlement to work in Canada.
Previous related experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
Effective verbal communication in English.
Ability to read and understand written or drawing instructions.
Good mathematical skills; ability to read a tape measure (metric/standard).
Understanding of common workplace safety and environmental practices.
Ability to meet attendance and punctuality requirements.
Ability to work shift‑work.
Physical ability to handle objects weighing up to 20 lb and occasionally up to 50 lb.
Forklift operation would be an asset.
Education
Grade 12 Diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
