MAINTENANCE MECHANIC (Afternoon Shift)
Location Saskatoon, SK

Install, align dismantle, repair industrial machinery and mechanical equipment such as pumps, conveyors, compressors, gearboxes, and automated production systems. Repair or replace defective components including bearings, motors, seals, belts chains, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems. Work closely with production supervisors to prioritize and execute planned downtime.Conduct equipment inspections and document findings, maintenance activities and repair work in CMMS. Collaborate with outside maintenance contractors, electricians, operators to resolve equipment and production issues. Adhere to all safety regulations, LOTO, and company policies while performing work.Performs scheduled maintenance inspections and repairs of production and packaging equipment. Experience with PLC controlled equipment considered an asset. Participate in root cause analysis of equipment failure and implement corrective actions. General
Troubleshoots presses, furnaces, threaders. conveyors, saws and automated production lines Provide input and recommendations for equipment purchases and replacement. Communicates with co-workers, management, and others in a courteous and professional manner. Recognize unsafe acts and corrects the situation, making suggestions on creating a safe and healthy work environment.Uses lathes, mills, welders and grinders to aid in repairs and maintenance. Works closely with Production&Maintenance Supervisor on various projects and preventative maintenance. Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions. Completes other duties as assigned to meet business needs. Qualifications
Level 4/Journeyperson Millwright Solid hands-on experience with hydraulics and pneumatics. Experience with automated equipment/PLCs considered an asset. Education and / or Requirements
Legal entitlement to work in Canada. Preference will be given to Journey person/level 4 Millwrights. Previous related experience in a production or manufacturing environment Ability to communicate effectively using the spoken word in English High School Diploma or G.E.D. required Post-secondary education in mechanical technology or related fieldSkills
Self-motivated, analytical, and accountable Strong leadership and problem-solving skills Basic computer skills Demonstrated positive attitude and work ethic Ability to understand and provide troubleshooting on all equipment. Continually strives for improvement Eagerness to learn and take on more responsibilityAbility to complete tasks in a timely manner and seek more opportunities Offers additional help when required Willing and able to learn how to maintain new equipment Ability to work effectively in a multifunctional self-managed work group. Physical Requirements
Continually handles objects weighing up to 20 lbs. and occasionally objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Occasionally required to climb or balance, lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.Work is performed in a production environment with temperature exposures that are impacted by seasonal weather conditions.
