Company:
Alstom
At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, more than 80 000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your software quality assurance expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring that our software solutions meet the highest quality standards and align with industry requirements. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as project managers, software developers, and quality assurance specialists), support softwareconfiguration management, and contribute to software certification activities. You’ll also engage with internal and external customers to address quality concerns and drive continuous improvement.
You’ll specifically take care of defining and implementing the Software Quality Assurance Plan, but also managing or contributing to software audits and gate/phase reviews of software development.
We’ll look to you for:
Defining and implementing the Software Quality Assurance Plan on the project and preparing the Software Quality Assurance Report
Supporting regular activity reporting regarding process conformity and software technical documentation progress
Supporting Software Configuration Management, including supplier software (e.g., COTS, libraries, source code)
Managing or contributing to gate/phase reviews of software development with a veto right
Managing or contributing to software audits and following up on corrective and preventative actions until closure
Supporting any software certification activity on the project
Interfacing with customers (internal or external) on software quality, if required
Documenting the return of experience for each phase of the software development
Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, which may require occasional travel
All about you
We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:
Degree in computer science or an equivalent engineering discipline, or relevant professional experience
Fluency in English (company language)
Overall understanding of software engineering lifecycle models, tools, and techniques
Ability to identify software quality issues and risks
Knowledge of quality assurance methods and tools
Team player with strong customer (internal or external) orientation
Familiarity with software configuration management techniques and tools
Auditor certification and experience (desirable)
Business acumen (desirable)
Ability to interpret software quality assurance and software safety standards and models such as ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 90003, EN 50128, EN 50657, IEEE 1558, CMMI, and IRIS (desirable)
Proficiency in tools like MS Office, SharePoint, project tracking databases, and software development/testing tools (desirable)
Leadership and accountability
Assertiveness and the ability to say“no” when necessary
Empathy and the ability to work with international and diverse teams
Adaptability and resilience in the face of uncertainty
Proficiency in French and English is required. Knowledge of a third language is considered an asset when working with our international partners, suppliers, colleagues, and customers. In Quebec, French remains the primary working language of our company.
You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
Important to note
As a global business, we’re an equal-opportunity employer that celebrates diversity across the 63 countries we operate in. We’re committed to creating an inclusive workplace for everyone.
