About the Opportunity The Dietitian is responsible for providing competent, safe, and ethical professional practice to patients, families, and the community. The Dietitian advises on diet, food, and nutrition across all health sectors, leads team efforts to support the nutritional health of patients and the community through health promotion, disease prevention, treatment, support, and rehabilitation. The Dietitian participates in the Integrated Dietetic Internship program, including preceptoring dietetic interns, and employs an evidence‑informed approach to practice.
About You
Bachelor’s degree with major concentration in Foods and Nutrition required
Licensed with Nova Scotia Regulator of Dietitians (NSRD) required
Minimum one (1) year working experience as a dietitian preferred
Inpatient clinical nutrition experience an asset
Competency in dysphagia management, enteral and parenteral nutrition
Experience counseling patients in an outpatient setting
Current WHMIS an asset
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications; familiarity with Meditech considered an asset information system considered an asset
Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to prioritize, problem solve, and work under time limitations
Demonstrated participation in continuing education and upgrading of skills
Ability to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Hours Permanent full‑time; 75 hours biweekly. Hours may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Compensation and Benefits $37.25 - $50.36 hourly.
