Financial Analyst– Intact Insurance Finance (Saint-Hyacinthe)

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Analyst to join our Intact Insurance Finance team. In this role, you will be the contact point for your assigned region/tasks under your area of expertise. This dynamic role requires a balance of technical numerical proficiency, strong relationship‑building skills, and a good knowledge of financial management. You’ll lead monthly reporting, support the month‑end and budgeting process, and communicate results to stakeholders.Responsibilities

Process monthly journal entries. Process purchase orders, follow‑up with users, and review system‑generated entries from the procurement system. Review the reporting suite and recommend improvements using tools such as PowerBI. Review expenses and underwriting results for the assigned region and provide monthly gap analysis.Analyze monthly claims trends, compare actuals to forecast for reasonableness, and report results to VPFinance and Regional VP. Provide sign‑off on underwriting results and comments on growth and profitability of the assigned region. Contribute to the budget process for the tasks assigned to you, including work on the budget tool, and act as the key contact for stakeholders.Participate in special projects or mandates as requested. Qualifications

Post‑secondary education in finance and accounting (required). Working towards a designation: CPA/CFA (preferred). Minimum 3 years of experience in a finance and accounting role in a large organization (required). Experience building PowerBI reports/queries and solid skills in Excel, VBA, and relational databases.Skilled in data extraction, manipulation, and synthesis. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Can multitask and handle multiple priorities with time‑sensitive deadlines. Can interact with people at all levels of the company, including senior management and external partners. For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism in English and French is required.Benefits
