Job Summary

Do you have Electrical Wiring Design experience and have you worked in aerospace engineering? The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is looking for an EWIS 3D Senior Designer (f/m) to join our EWIS engineering department based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada). You will work jointly with a multifunctional team including Chief Engineering, Program, Method, Manufacturing, etc., and be part of the EWIS engineering team responsible for major development projects on the A220, production and in‑service support, and investigation and solution identification for problems impacting aircraft airworthiness.Work Environment

Lead the 3D design and integration of EWIS from conceptualization through to production, providing a senior level of technical expertise on complex aerospace programs to meet safety and certification requirements. Utilize advanced Catia skills to create, optimise, and manage detailed 3D models of wiring harnesses, including complex routing, bundle segregation, and component placement to meet strict regulatory and functional requirements.Leverage Enovia for comprehensive product lifecycle management (PLM), ensuring meticulous data integrity, configuration control, and seamless collaboration across engineering disciplines. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers, fostering a high-performance design culture and contributing to the development of best practices.Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including systems, stress, and manufacturing engineering—to resolve integration challenges and ensure designs are manufacturable and maintainable. Support Design Review Authority activities by presenting and defending design solutions, demonstrating a thorough understandingof EWIS regulations, and preparing all necessary documentation for compliance.Qualifications

Minimum of 10 years of aerospace experience in the 3D EWIS installation domain. Subject matter expert in Catia V5 or 3DX (V6), with a deep understanding of its electrical and wire harness design workbenches. Highly proficient in Enovia, with a proven track record of managing complex project data, workflows and configurations.Extensive knowledge of EWIS regulations (e.g. FAR, EASA) and industry standards (e.g. SAE). Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence design decisions and mentor a team. Proactive, detail‑oriented, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.Experience with EWIS MRB (Material Review Board) approval and related processes. Well‑versed in the processes and requirements for earning a Design Authority designation, with a clear desire to grow into that role in the near future.
