Description
We are seeking a highly creative and experienced Senior Technical Designer to join a world‑class team focused on designing and manufacturing innovative leisure facility equipment. This role is ideal for a design professional with a strong background in engineering, architecture, industrial design, or a related discipline who thrives in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in conceptualizing equipment, balancing creativity with technical feasibility, operational performance, and safety. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to industry‑leading projects while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to bring imaginative concepts to life.

Responsibilities

Conceptualize, design, and develop innovative layouts and configurations for aquatic play structures, ensuring designs optimize guest experience, operational performance, and safety requirements.

Collaborate with creative, product development, engineering, and manufacturing teams to develop compelling theming concepts and visually engaging play environments aligned with customer expectations and market trends.

Apply customer‑specific colour palettes, branding elements, and aesthetic requirements to ensure designs align with facility themes, customer preferences, and intellectual property guidelines.

Create and communicate detailed design concepts using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and other visualization tools while ensuring manufacturability and project feasibility.

Support Project Services and engineering teams by clearly communicating design intent and maintaining alignment between conceptual designs and final manufactured outcomes.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of design standards, processes, and product offerings while proactively managing multiple projects, timelines, and departmental priorities.

Qualifications

Degree or Diploma in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Industrial Design, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical design, industrial design, architectural design, or a related field, preferably within manufacturing or custom product environments.

Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, with experience using Adobe Creative Suite and 3D visualization/rendering software considered a strong asset.

Strong portfolio demonstrating innovative, aesthetically driven design solutions; experience with aquatic play structures, themed environments, or recreational products is preferred.

Solid understanding of colour theory, materials, manufacturing processes, and safety standards related to steel, fiberglass, and large‑scale fabricated products.

Excellent communication, collaboration, leadership, and project management skills, with the ability to mentor junior team members and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Pay: $70,000 - $90,000 annually depending on seniority

Hybrid work schedule - must be in commuting distance to Richmond, BC
