Position Title AWS Developer Co‑op (Amazon Connect Focus)
Location Greater Toronto Area (Hybrid)
Term 4–8 months (aligned with academic co‑op schedules)
Start Date Spring Term (May 2026)
Position Overview (Co‑op Learning Focus) This co‑op position is designed to provide students with practical, real‑world experience in cloud development and contact center technologies using AWS. You will work under the guidance of experienced developers and mentors to contribute to active projects while developing technical, analytical, and professional skills aligned with your academic program.
Key Responsibilities&Learning Outcomes
Technical Development&Application
Assist in building and configuring Amazon Connect contact flows and IVR systems
Support integration with AWS services such as Lambda and DynamoDB
Contribute to developing applications using Java or Node.js
Learning Outcome: Gain hands‑on experience in cloud‑based application development and understand how enterprise systems are designed and deployed.
Cloud Infrastructure&Tools
Work with Infrastructure as Code tools (CloudFormation or Terraform)
Learn to deploy and manage cloud resources in AWS environments
Apply foundational AWS security and best practices
Learning Outcome: Develop practical skills in cloud infrastructure, deployment processes, and secure system design.
Monitoring, Testing&Troubleshooting
Assist with monitoring system performance using AWS CloudWatch
Support debugging and issue resolution in development and test environments
Participate in testing and validation of system enhancements
Learning Outcome: Build problem‑solving skills and learn how to maintain system reliability and performance.
Professional&Team Development
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including developers, IT, and operations
Participate in Agile team ceremonies (stand‑ups, sprint planning, retrospectives)
Document technical processes and contribute to knowledge sharing
Learning Outcome: Strengthen communication, teamwork, and workplace professionalism in a technical environment.
Supervision&Support
You will be assigned a dedicated supervisor/mentor for guidance, feedback, and support throughout your work term
Regular check‑ins and performance feedback will be provided
Opportunities to participate in team learning sessions and knowledge‑sharing activities
Qualifications Education
Currently enrolled in a co‑op program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field at an Ontario post‑secondary institution
Technical Skills (Expected at Co‑op Level)
Basic understanding of programming (Java, Node.js, or similar)
Familiarity with cloud computing concepts (AWS is an asset)
Understanding of APIs, databases, or general software development principles
Professional Skills
Strong willingness to learn and take initiative
Problem‑solving and analytical thinking skills
Effective communication and teamwork abilities
Nice to Have (Optional)
Exposure to AWS services (Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, etc.)
Familiarity with version control (Git)
Experience with Agile or Scrum environments
