The Manager of Strategic Retail Initiatives will plan, execute, finalize and manage projects through all phases of the lifecycle, adhering to strict deadlines and budgets. The role involves acquiring resources, coordinating team members and third‑party vendors, defining project objectives, and overseeing quality control, risk management, and stakeholder expectations.
Responsibilities
Champion the development and management of strategic retail initiatives to enable and accelerate retail sales growth.
Plan, execute, finalize and manage projects through all phases of the lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery and budget compliance.
Acquire resources and coordinate efforts of team members and third‑party vendors to deliver projects as planned.
Define project objectives and oversee quality control, risk management, and stakeholder expectations throughout the lifecycle.
Design, analyze, and manage activities for innovative projects, consulting with business partners to determine user needs and business requirements, and develop detailed business and technical specifications and Q&A documentation.
Physical Demands / Working Conditions
Combination office and work‑from‑home environment.
Occasional travel within Canada may be required.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
4+ years of experience managing complex, process‑based retail projects and 5+ years of leadership experience.
Proven ability to collaborate broadly, maintain a flexible, positive attitude, and achieve results as a team player.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
Business acumen and creative problem‑solving abilities.
Strong judgment and superior troubleshooting skills for complex project situations.
Strong leadership, communication and relationship‑building skills.
In‑depth knowledge of and ability to adapt project management practices; PMP certification is an asset.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and improve complex processes.
Strong financial acumen, prior experience creating LOE, business cases and ROI assessments.
