About the Role
With a passion for care towards residents, families and team members, the Rehabilitation Aide is accountable for collaborating with the Interdisciplinary Team and residents to promote an interdisciplinary approach to resident care, aid and assist service excellence, program development, implementation, coordination and ongoing evaluation.Responsibilities
Promote resident‑centered care by planning, organizing and implementing resident‑focused activities for the Young Adults program; collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team and community agencies to support resident needs. Respect and promote residents’ rights, individuality and holistic needs; provide services as indicated by therapy assessments and resident goals, and inform therapists of changes.Provide functional support and assistance with mobility, comfort, self‑care, and intellectual stimulation under the direction of the Occupational Therapist and Recreation Therapist. Maintain accurate, comprehensive and timely documentation of resident data, care plans, progress and any significant changes.Contribute to a safe environment by adhering to safety guidelines and practices at all times. Collaborate with colleagues, volunteers, families and community resources to enhance the quality of life and support resident care. Assist in reviewing, implementing and evaluating occupational programs and support the setting of short‑ and long‑term goals for residents.Coordinate and orient volunteers for therapy and program participation. Qualifications&Requirements
Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; Community Rehabilitation or Therapy Assistant diploma preferred. Class 4 driver’s license. Minimum 2 years’ experience in a long‑term care or health‑related field. Ability to work effectively in a physically and mentally demanding environment. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.Experience coordinating volunteers. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Position Information
Location: Red Deer, Alberta. Shift: 08:00–15:15 and 08:00–12:00. FTE: 0.80. Permanent, part‑time. 4‑week cycle of 16 6.75‑hour shifts and 4 4‑hour shifts. Position start: 2026‑03‑19. Successful candidates will be required to obtain a Criminal Background Check and provide proof of all mandatory immunizations. Bethany Care Society is an equal‑opportunity employer.
