Student - Ground Truthing Data Collector - Terrace, Prince George

Job Title: Student - Ground Truthing Data Collector Hourly rate : is $31.14 per hour Hotel and Daily Per diem when out of residential area. Pacific Northern Gas Ltd. (PNG), a subsidiary of TriSummit Utilities Inc., owns and operates natural gas processing, transmission and distribution systems in British Columbia’s lower Peace, west central, and north coast regions. PNG’s western transmission system extends from the Enbridge gas transmission system north of Prince George and along the Highway 16 corridor to Terrace and then onto the port communities of Kitimat and Prince Rupert, providing gas transportation and service to twelve communities and a number of industrial facilities. In the Province’s northeast, Pacific Northern Gas (N.E.) Ltd., a subsidiary of PNG, provides gas processing, transmission and distribution service in the Dawson Creek, Fort St. John and Tumbler Ridge areas.The Student engaging in Ground Truthing Data Collection will be responsible for conducting field verification activities to support mapping, infrastructure, and operational projects. This role involves engaging directly with customers and residents within designated areas to gather accurate data and ensure alignment with project requirements. The position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with digital data collection tools such as laptop, iPad, and mobile phone.The Student Ground Truthing Data Collector is responsible for committing to PNG’s Core Values and will conduct work in accordance with department processes, corporate policy, and applicable regulatory and legal requirements. Responsibilities:

Perform ground truthing data collection within assigned areas. Engage with customers and residents to accurately collect, verify, and record field data. Use laptop, iPad to input data in real time. Maintain clear and accurate records of all interactions, findings, and data collected. Represent the organization in a professional, courteous, and customer-focused manner at all times.Collaborate with internal teams to ensure data integrity and completeness of task. Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures. Travel to various locations and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Qualifications:

Must have a Valid BC Driver’s License (Class 5 – Required) Ability to travel within Service area – Prince Rupert, Smithers, Vanderhoof, Prince George for the Northwest and Tumbler Ridge, Dawson Creek for the Northeast. Registered as a full‑time student in a post‑secondary program Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.Skills and Competencies

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work under tight deadlines. Problem solving ability and sound judgment in field situations.Physical Requirements

Ability to walk and stand for extended periods. Ability to navigate uneven terrain and access residential or commercial properties as needed. Capability to carry light field equipment and devices. This position is within our bargaining unit (IBEW).
