Job Title: Family Physician– Full Time A Family Physician position to provide primary care services within a shared care model to a patient population of approximately 5,000 in the communities of Fort St. James, Nak’azdli Whut’en, Tl’azt’en Nation and Binche Whut’en.
Qualifications and Skills
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)– Desired
Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)– Desired
Current CPSBC (College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia) license– Provisional
Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP)– Desired
Eligible as a Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP) member– Eligible
Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) membership– Mandatory
Emergency medicine skills– Desired
Obstetric care skills– Desired
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PAL)– Desired
Requisites
Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) membership– Mandatory
Responsibilities
Provide primary care services to the community patient population.
Manage chronic diseases.
Operate walk-in clinic services.
Provide pre‑ and post‑natal care.
Administer immunizations and child health clinic services.
Perform wound care.
Deliver mental health and addictions support.
Coordinate social work services.
Provide virtual care options such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy and psychiatry.
Participate in First Nations clinical outreach programs.
Benefits
Vacation leave 6‑8 weeks annually, including CME.
Retention premium 22.82%.
Retention flat fee $35,364.
Relocation funding available $9,000‑15,000.
Recruitment incentive $20,000.
Relocation funding: $15,000 if relocating from outside Canada; $12,000 if relocating within Canada but outside BC; $9,000 if relocating within BC.
