Heavy Duty Mechanic (Apprentice), Penticton

Job Description Sunbelt Rentals is looking for an experienced Technician. The role performs preventive maintenance, advanced diagnostics, and complex repairs on equipment to avoid downtime. The position will be based in the shop, but requires attending site calls and participating in the on‑call rotation.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.

Conduct advanced diagnostics to identify issues.

Make complex repairs on a fleet that includes aerial work platforms, construction tools, generators, pumps, HVAC, and oil&gas equipment.

Attend site calls and participate in on‑call rotations as needed.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; some trade school or equivalent training desired.

Previous mechanic experience with diesel or heavy equipment, or specialty lines such as generators, pumps, HVAC or oil&gas equipment strongly preferred.

Valid Red Seal (Heavy Duty) is an asset.

Ability to provide mechanic’s tools of the trade.

Advanced knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems troubleshooting.

Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Pay Range Base Pay Range: $25.69– $35.33 per hour. Starting rate may vary by position, location, education, training, and/or experience.
