Maintenance Manager– Castle Wood Village (Long‑Term Care) – Castlegar, BC Position Type: Full Time
Shift Schedule: Day

What You'll Do Under the direction of the Community Manager, the Maintenance Manager is responsible for the overall upkeep and maintenance of the building, including interior and exterior areas, grounds, mechanical, and electrical systems, and overall site aesthetics.
Ensure all preventative maintenance tasks are completed in accordance with established schedules and manufacturer specifications.
Review, prioritize, and address maintenance and resident service requests daily in coordination with the Community Manager.
Coordinate, supervise, and liaise with trades, suppliers, and contracted service providers, including:
Adhering to all financial policies and procedures
Monitoring workmanship and time on site; approving completed work
Maintaining warranty records and pursuing warranty claims as needed
Obtaining quotes, defining scopes of work, scheduling, and ensuring quality control
Resolving conflicts or discrepancies promptly and reporting to the Community Manager
Work collaboratively with the Community Manager to address and resolve resident and staff concerns.
Source and evaluate new trades, suppliers, materials, and labor resources.
Support the training and ongoing development of staff related to building systems and maintenance practices.
Assist with building turnover processes, including new construction, additions, or renovation projects.
Participate in the setup and management of service contracts, ensuring compliance with all terms and conditions by involved parties.
What You Bring
A strong mechanical or electrical understanding.
Previous building or facility maintenance experience.
Exceptional ability to work independently; this incumbent will be working autonomously and managing relationships with external vendors.
Strong troubleshooting skills and the capability to work through a variety of situations.
Ability to multi‑task, manage time effectively, and prioritize work.
Ability to plan, deliver, and evaluate budgets.
Capability of carrying out significant lifting, carrying, pulling, bending and reaching.
Strong communication skills.
The ability to create sound&economical solutions in emergency situations.
Clear Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check.
Provide Negative TB Screening, and Immunization Record.
