Project Manager - Peterborough Community Health Centre
Compensation:
Annual Salary of $82,645 plus paid time off, group benefits, and HOOPP. Terms:
Full-time 1.0 FTE, permanent. Hours of Work:
37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday with some evenings and occasional weekends. Start Date:

Overview
PCHC is a new community‑based health centre that promotes social justice and health equity through a model of care that incorporates both Western and traditional Indigenous approaches. As Program Manager, you will oversee the administration, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of programs, guiding a team of Allied Health Professionals to support the organization’s goals.Key Responsibilities
Continuously assess and enhance program effectiveness based on community needs, client feedback, and best practices. Organize and monitor program schedules, deadlines, and progress to ensure seamless operation. Support the design and execution of new programs and the enhancement of existing services in alignment with community needs and funder requirements.Participate in community meetings, build partnerships, and collaborate with stakeholders on projects and initiatives. Compile and analyze program data, generate reports on monthly, quarterly, and annual statistics, and implement effective evaluation strategies to inform decision‑making. Contribute to program funding efforts, including preparing project reports and supporting grant applications.Identify challenges and implement effective solutions to optimize program efficiency and impact. Work closely with project coordinators and other team members to ensure smooth administration and execution of programs. Ensure systems are in place for effective planning and evaluation of projects and programs.Promote health equity, integrate anti‑oppressive approaches and trauma‑informed approaches in program design and delivery. Demonstrate team leadership and supervise staff to ensure client‑centered, efficient work processes. Be familiar with program monitoring and evaluation and ensure service targets are met.Participate in community relations: collaborate with community programmes, identify community health needs, and ensure programs are responsive and grounded in health equity. Serve as liaison with clients accessing CHC services, support the organization’s strategic goals, maintain clear communication, collaborate with Clinic Manager, and perform other duties as assigned.Job Requirements
All employees submit a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Screening upon hire and every 5 years thereafter. Compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, its regulations, and all CHC policies. Standard First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain upon hire). Valid Ontario driver’s license, use of own vehicle, and proof of valid insurance.Availability to attend meetings, community engagement events, and other health promotion activities after regular work hours on occasion. Qualifications
Minimum 3+ years in a managerial role. Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Community Development, or a combination of relevant post‑secondary education and hands‑on experience in program management. Experience in managerial and program development positions in a primary health care environment is an asset.Certificate in Leadership development is an asset. Experience working with a diverse, multicultural population and specifically Indigenous communities is an asset. Experience in program development and implementation, health promotion knowledge, and familiarity with program monitoring and evaluation.Ability to work effectively in a multi‑disciplinary management team. Strong written and verbal communication skills across platforms. Excellent organizational and time‑management skills with flexibility. Skill in handling challenging interpersonal situations with sound judgment, empathy, and compassion.Effective critical thinking and problem‑solving skills focused on health equity. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining confidentiality. Working Conditions
Primarily sedentary; involves extended periods of sitting, computer use, and occasional walking. Occasional lifting of items up to 5 pounds. Predominantly office‑based with some travel and outdoor exposure during events. Exposure to health and safety hazards including infectious diseases, verbal or physical aggression, harsh weather, working alone, slips and falls. Requires training to identify and manage risks. Minimal exposure to hazardous materials.Fast‑paced environment with potential noise, interruptions, and emotional demands. Requires quick decision‑making and stress management. Benefits
