CUPE Job Title: Unit Clerk (subsequent)

Status: Temporary Part Time (~6 Month Contract)

Wage Schedule: $28.980– $30.290 per hour

This position is open to all qualified CUPE staff throughout Lakeridge Health commencing 28 May 2026 and closing at 11:59 pm on 2 June 2026.

Responsibilities

Provide support to the Patient Care Manager, Operations Coordinator, and the health‑care team to facilitate the flow of patients through the clinic.

Perform a wide variety of clerical functions in a clinical setting.

Staff scheduling and reception duties.

Schedule patients and coordinate tests, appointments, and treatments.

Computer data entry.

Direct telephone calls and contact patients by phone.

Fax and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Medical Office Administration Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge and experience with EPIC and computerized patient registration preferred.

Proven knowledge of medical terminology (tested).

Proven knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel (basic level tested).

Proven keyboarding skills of 30 wpm (tested).

Preferred experience/knowledge regarding staffing in accordance with CUPE and ONA Collective Agreements.

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work productively amid interruptions while working within a stressful environment.

Proven ability to maintain strict adherence to patient confidentiality.

Demonstrated exceptional communication skills—verbal, listening, and written—to effectively interact with all levels of staff, patients, and families.

Proven ability to adapt positively to a changing environment.
