The Pines Long Term Care Home is currently recruiting for a

Maintenance Worker Closing Date : Wednesday, June 3, 2026 @ 12:00 NOON

Starting Rate : $26.23 hourly

Salary Range : $26.23 - $27.59 hourly

Status : Permanent full-time

Hours of Work : 75 hours (10 shifts) in a two-week period, including every other weekend. Opportunity to pick‑up additional shifts. On‑call duties as required.

The Opportunity

Reporting the Manager, Environmental Services, this job performs minor general repairs and ensures the safety of residents and staff by checking, testing and reporting on conditions of a variety of equipment found within the facility in accordance with the standards established through the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care (MOHLTC) and the policies and procedures of the home.

What you will do

Perform preventative maintenance and repairs as required, including plumbing, minor electrical, drywall repair and painting.

Maintain the mechanical room, maintenance shop, and other maintenance areas in a clean, organized&safe manner.

Monitor and perform routine maintenance and minor repairs of the building heating, ventilations and air conditioning systems.

Monitor and maintain building security systems, indoor and outdoor lighting.

Outdoor work as needed (e.g., snow removal, gardening, and sweeping).

What you will need

Secondary school diploma plus completion of an additional vocational program of up to one year, preferably in general building maintenance or equivalent.

Minimum 1‑year previous experience including a working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, or general repair working in an industrial / residential environment.

Knowledge of the Ontario Fire Code would be considered an asset.
