Position Summary Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Conference Sales Manager is responsible for promoting, selling and executing conferences and events within the Resort based on client specifications. This role involves working with clients to plan and coordinate events, ensuring that all aspects meet client expectations and business goals. The Conference Sales Manager works closely with various departments to deliver a seamless experience from initial inquiry to post‑event follow‑up.
Duties&Responsibilities
Identify and target potential clients, including corporations, associations, and event planners.
Conduct sales presentations, site visits, and negotiations to secure bookings.
Responsible for maximizing revenues, controlling expenses and acting as a liaison between the client and operating departments to ensure consistent delivery of service throughout.
Create customized proposals, contracts and detailed event orders based on client needs and budget.
Coordinate with internal departments and 3rd‑party vendors (such as catering, operations, etc.) to ensure all aspects of the event are in place.
Solicit and confirm event‑related information with the client, and organize/disseminate information to all departments through emails, memos, event orders, directives, resumes and rooming lists in a timely manner.
Work with the Sales Director to develop and implement sales strategies to attract new business and retain existing clients.
Follow up on all administrative requirements related to the group and Horseshoe Resort to ensure accurate collection of information and billing procedures are followed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, sales, planning&events, or a related field.
Proven experience in sales, preferably within the hospitality, conference, or events sector.
Strong understanding of event planning and coordination.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Ability to build and maintain client relationships.
Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple events simultaneously.
Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
