Description
This position provides a key leadership role in enhancing health and safety in the workplace through the development, implementation, delivery, evaluation and engagement of employees in injury prevention and health promotion strategies. This position provides consultative support to company executives, management, safety personnel and front-line employees in The Redpath Americas Group on all health, safety and training related matters. Additionally, this individual teaches, coaches, researches, develops, distributes and continuously improves companywide injury prevention and loss control programs, training, and promotional materials. This position also reports on the status of health and safety systems, site safety performance and performs significant functions in the development of global safety and training initiatives in collaboration with the Management from other Redpath business units.Health and Safety

Has the authority and responsibility to maintain a safe and efficient working environment Follow Company health and safety standards and reports any unsafe acts or conditions Responsible for the use of all safety equipment according to Company rules and applicable legislation and ensures the proper use of personal protective equipmentGeneral

Lead the development, implementation, and oversight of Health&Safety programs across Redpath Americas Monitor compliance with internal programs and applicable health and safety legislation Develop and support safety initiatives, audits, reporting, and performance metrics Oversee incident reporting and investigations, including regulatory communications as requiredSupport safety leadership by guiding, mentoring, and ensuring access to appropriate training and resources Provide input into the selection, development, and performance of safety personnel Lead safety system and software implementations and support continuous improvement efforts Facilitate and support safety meetings, kick‑offs, presentations, and safety eventsContribute to policy, procedure, and training material development and updates Represent the Safety function internally and externally with clients, regulators, and industry groups Stay informed of industry trends and legislative changes to ensure ongoing compliance and best practices Education

Required: High School Diploma with experience in mining, health and safety or Diploma/Certificate in Safety, Occupational Health or related field Preferred: Degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene or related field Member of the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP)Canadian Registered Safety Skilled (CRSP) designation (or actively working toward certification) Work Experience

Required: 10 years’ experience in mining health and safety capacity Preferred: 10-15 years’ experience in mining with corporate HSE experience, development of health, safety, training programs and procedures Prior experience as a miner considered an asset
