Summary As a Warehouse Volunteer at Project SHARE, you will play a vital role in supporting our mission to provide food to individuals and families in need. This position involves packing food items, stocking shelves, and ensuring that our warehouse remains clean, organized, and safe.
Location 2-4129 Stanley Ave Niagara Falls, Ontario L2E 7H3
Opportunity Type and Schedule Ongoing– Start Anytime Volunteer hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM year‑round (except statutory holidays).
Shift Options:
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Morning Shift: 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM
Afternoon Shift: 12:00 PM – 3:30 PM
Shift capacity: 3 volunteer positions per shift.
Preferred commitment: 6 months.
Scheduling is coordinated with volunteers via Better Impact platform.
Attendance: If unable to attend a scheduled shift, volunteers must notify the volunteer coordinator promptly.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble food boxes and pack items for distribution based on client needs and program requirements.
Restock food items on shelves in an organized manner, following inventory rotation guidelines (e.g., first in, first out).
Assist with inventory management by checking stock levels, reporting shortages, and helping with reordering supplies when necessary.
Maintain the warehouse clean, organized, and free of hazards; break down boxes, dispose of waste, and uphold safety standards.
Work closely with other volunteers and staff to ensure smooth warehouse operations and efficient workflow.
Qualifications and Requirements
Volunteer must wear safety shoes (steel/composite toe footwear) while working in the warehouse.
Physical capability to lift and carry boxes weighing up to 40 pounds.
Good organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain food safety standards.
Strong communication and collaboration skills; team player.
Access to reliable transportation to travel to and from the Project SHARE location.
Completion of Food Banks Canada Safe Food Handling training; certificate to be emailed to the Volunteer Coordinator.
Submission of a clear Police Criminal Reference Check.

Volunteers must maintain high personal hygiene standards.
Project SHARE is a fragrance‑free environment; volunteers should use scent‑free personal hygiene products.
Adherence to safety protocols outlined in the Volunteer Handbook is mandatory.
Volunteer Eligibility
Minimum age 16 years.

Willingness to undergo a background or police records check.
