Co-op Product Designer - Mechanical (Nanaimo)

Position will work in Nanaimo, B.C. As Co-op Product Designer– Mechanical on the Vancouver team, you will be involved in a wide variety of tasks supporting administrative, engineering, and technical staff throughout the facility.General Responsibilities

Lots of hands‑on opportunities: build prototypes or equipment; test products and components; analyze product performance; disassemble, inspect, analyze tested components; design and optimize assembly processes and equipment; analyze machining data and develop mechanical and software tools to optimize productionWide variety of tasks– usually 2‑3 projects on a time Great supervision and mentorship but also work independently Supportive engineering and technical staff throughout the facility Great camaraderie among the co‑op students’ cohorts as well as within the engineers, technologists and designersOften opportunities to do some of the following:

Design components or equipment with CREO Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems Use high‑precision measurement equipment Program PLCs Analyze product performance using LabVIEW/NI‑DAQ control systems or our data acquisition equipment

Experience in mechanical/electrical/software blend for both product design, and manufacturing&machining equipment designing along with its processes Exposure to both worlds of product development and manufacturing processes since we do it all in one facility! Perform mechanical design including solid modeling, prototype assembly and testing, tolerance analysis, and engineering analysis Research and design concept solutionsAnalyze functional performance for components, products and processes and help identify improvements What do we offer?
