Support Deaf and hard of hearing learners at Morris Academy as a full-time Teaching and Learning Assistant. Collaborate with teachers to foster inclusive education and facilitate ASL learning.
The selected candidate will serve at Morris Academy from September 2025 to June 2026, aiding in language development, social-emotional learning, and instructional support for Deaf students. Responsibilities include assessing student progress, modeling American Sign Language, and creating resources tailored to DHH learners, all while promoting a supportive educational atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:• Assist in planning learning experiences for Deaf students • Help implement educational programs and instructional supports • Evaluate and report on student progress regularly • Collaborate with educational teams to enhance learning environments • Facilitate learning about Deaf culture and ASL
Requirements:• Teacher's Certificate Level Two (II) from Education Department • Experience with Deaf and hard of hearing learners • Competence in using assistive technologies • Strong interpersonal and communication skills • Enthusiasm for ongoing professional development
