Associate, Construction Delay (Summer 2026) Join Secretariat, a leading consulting firm specializing in construction delay and damages analysis. The role involves providing expert insight on large-scale construction disputes, working with top law firms, corporations, and institutions.
Responsibilities
Research and fact‑finding
Review construction schedules, drawings, correspondence, market data, weather reports, financial data, and other documentation to identify key details and metrics.
Develop an in-depth understanding of disputes related to large-scale construction projects.
Detailed data analysis
Apply analytical methods and tools to large datasets for accurate analysis.
Quantification of delays and damages
Calculate schedule delays and cost overruns for large-scale projects.
Manage large datasets using Excel, Access, or Python.
Prepare clear, comprehensive deliverables for clients.
Assist with client proposals and other business‑development activities as needed.
Manage time effectively to meet strict client deadlines.
Qualifications
Graduated with a bachelor’s degree in building construction, engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Strong skills in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
Experience with construction scheduling programs (MS Project, Primavera P6, TILOS) is preferred.
Experience with disputes, including arbitration or litigation, is preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English.
Ability to communicate highly technical material to non‑technical audiences.
Ability to travel as needed (generally under 15 % of the time).
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Flexible, creative problem‑solving skills.
